Police Recover Stolen TRACAS Shuttle Bus in Anambra Hours After Armed Robbery

  By O'star Eze  On May 17, 2025, police operatives attached to the Obosi Divisional Headquarters in Anambra State successfully recovered a shuttle bus belonging to the Transport Company of Anambra State (TRACAS) just hours after it was stolen by armed hoodlums in Nkwelle, Oyi Local Government Area. The shuttle bus, with registration number AGU 651 ZL, was snatched by a five-man armed criminal gang who disguised themselves as passengers. According to a statement by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, the driver reported the incident via a distress call to the Command’s Control Room. The criminals dispossessed the driver of N20,000 in cash and the vehicle. Acting swiftly, police operatives alerted security checkpoints across the area to block the criminals’ escape routes.
